AMC Networks had a perfectly lovely little earnings call today, except, as Deadline’s David Lieberman points out in the quote from his story, for one niggling little issue. Losing more than an eighth of your entire subscriber base might indeed have a “material” effect on your numbers going forward.

They better figure that one out quick or AMC will indeed be the home of The Walking Dead in more ways than one. But given some of the tart words Dish’s Charlie Ergen had during his earnings call (effectively, “our subscribers don’t care about watching zombies in the big city” or anything else on those channels), looks like AMC is in a weaker bargaining position for now.
