This countdown will take a while longer than 24 hours, but at least fans of the Fox action-drama “24” will have something to look forward to: Deadline’s Nellie Andreeva reports that “marathon negotiations” with Kiefer Sutherland have cleared the way for the show’s return as a limited-run series.

GOP mastermind Karl Rove had a very difficult time initially with the numbers that even Fox News Channel data crunchers were presenting regarding the vote in Ohio and elsewhere.

More generally, even more than for the Democrats, the election definitely seemed to be a victory for Big Data and the quants who love that kind of heavy-duty numbers analysis. Expect to see both sides continue to invest heavily in more analytical tools and techniques for the elections to come. Good time to be a statistical analyst with a computer bent.

Deadline’s Nikki Finke reports that a plan by HBO to create a TV movie about Roger Ailes, the sometimes controversial creator of Fox News Channel, to be produced by Fox rivals over at MSNBC, is now on hold.

Perhaps day's least surprising news: Fox to keep producer behind scathing anti-Obama piece

This has to count as some of the day’s least surprising news, but Deadline’s Dominic ran it down: Fox is keeping Chris White, the associate producer credited with creating a scathing anti-Obama piece for “Fox and Friends.” Read more about it at Deadline.
