This dropout wasn’t a complete surprise, given that he called this particular education “probably the lowest form of television,” but Chevy Chase is gone, gone, gone, effective immediately, from “Community.”
Deadline has all the details about Chase’s chasing out of the goofy but charming NBC comedy where he has squabbled with show creators for three and a half years. Read all the details here: http://www.deadline.com/2012/11/chevy-chase-leaving-nbcs-community/

Lizzie Caplan and “Community’s” Alison Brie nicely decorate the trailer for rom-com “Save the Date,” which is doing just that with a VOD release today, and a theatrical release in mid-December.
This trailer is all but completely without dialogue, but managed to keep the winsomeness largely intact. Check it out here: http://www.deadline.com/2012/11/save-the-date-trailer-alison-brie-lizzy-caplan-jeffrey-brown-graphic-novels-ifc-films/
As they DO say in the trailer, however, “Good luck.”

Oh, that happy day is here, kinda, for the oh-so-ardent fans of quirky NBC comedy “Community,” in a seemingly endless limbo regarding when the show might return to air. The network has ended the excruciating uncertainty by posting a day certain for the show’s re-emergence, in February.
That day is not Oct. 19, but, as Troy and Abed pointed out in a recent deeply amusing video, it still kinda is, because that’s when “Community” comes back on. So raise your mug and drink deep, “Community” community, at least when February rolls around.

Now THIS is interesting: Charlie Kaufman and Dan Harmon are crowdfunding “Anomalisa,” the movie Kaufman wrote and Harmon is producing. Given their respective antipathies for some of the pathologies of Hollywood these days, perhaps it was inevitable.

Anyway, read more about the project here: http://ow.ly/dNWVL

NBC and Sony may not have wanted Dan Harmon working on the extremely quirky comedy he created, “Community,” but that hasn’t stopped other networks from jumping at the chance to do business with him since he departed the show in May.
Today, Deadline TV Editor Nellie Andreeva reported that Harmon already has locked up a second deal with another network. It’ll be interesting to see if a) “Community” can maintain its antic and particular energy post-Harmon and b) if Harmon can find a way to strike more sparks with either or even both of his new deals.

Going to #SDCC? LOTS of GREAT TV panels, from “Battlestar Galactica” to “Breaking Bad” and a whole lot of other stuff in between, for shows such as “Game of Thrones,” Joss Whedon on the short-lived but much loved “Firefly,” the long-running and also much loved “Battlestar Galactica,” and “Community.” Deadline’s Dominic Patten gives the panel-by-panel rundown on what to expect each day. Good luck figuring out what you want to see more.

After lots of questions of who would come back to the quirky cult comedy “Community,” Deadline’s Nellie Andreeva reports exclusively that they all will, the entire cast. More proof that no one ever graduates from community college.
