After a few tumultuous weeks of transition and false starts, the Motion Picture Academy has its Oscar telecast producers in place, opting for the stability of a long-time pair of partners over some other glitzier but sure things. 
The naming of Craig Zadan and Neil Meron is a big one for the most important event in the year for the Academy, the Oscar show that pays for everything else that it does, and that reaches hundreds of millions of viewers worldwide each February. 
Deadline’s Nikki Finke and Mike Fleming (who discloses the pair produced a TV movie based on his Three Stooges book) say now the academy can move on to some other complicated questions, such as who will host the high-profile gig. No rest for the weary.
