It’s here! The Deadline news app is here! And yes, we at Deadline are delighted to announce that you can now snag the smoking hot Deadline news app from Apple’s iTunes App Store at this location.

Yes, you could go dig it out the old-fashioned way, with the sweat of your brow and industrial-grade virtual mining tools, but given that we’ve just launched our app, it remains well down the list of results. So, we’re making it easier for you to find the app, get the app, use the app and move us up the app search results list, so less adventurous and pioneering souls won’t face the challenges we’ve helped you overcome.

The app is free and ad-supported. It will run on iPads, iPhones and iPod Touch devices. You’ll be able to see all our posts (and all the Deadline followers’ comments about the posts) or read through specific Deadline channels such as TV or Box Office or Awards.

You can even find just the work of each of our gifted editors, to whom you can also easily send more cool inside tips, thus continuing the virtuous cycle of us giving you all the best and most important breaking news in Hollywood and the entertainment business beyond.

And no, for those otherwise-enabled souls who have asked, Deadline currently doesn’t have plans to create a similar app at this time for Android or Blackberry phones.

As we discussed in an earlier post here, the poor economics undergirding the creation of an app for either of those mobile platforms (and for now at least, Microsoft’s nascent Windows 8) are intimidating enough to keep even the gifted, headstrong and adventurous leadership of Deadline from diving in.

That said, for those of you on other mobile platforms, you can still access all of Deadline by way of the web browser on your mobile device. We won’t love you any less for that.
